CME Conferences
KAPA is known for its high quality CME program which is held every Fall. Respected medical professionals and health care policy makers present information on cutting edge medical topics, procedures and issues. Members attend at reduced rates.
Newsletter
The member only KAPA DisPAtch newsletter is a primary source of information to PAs in Kentucky. The newsletter provides up-to-date information on the activities of the Academy and on important issues that affect our profession. This quarterly publication is also available on-line under our Member Login section.
Convenient Membership Options
KAPA Now offers an “auto-renewal membership” that takes the hassle out of keeping up with dues every year, and offers a discount on your membership! An individual who qualifies for the "Fellow" membership and elects to enroll in auto-renewal. Discount will remain in effect as long as auto-renewal membership is maintained.
PA Job Listings
KAPA offers physician assistants an opportunity to use the KAPA Job Board, a resource that is essential to professional development. Accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on our website, the job board offers a list of employment opportunities within the state.
Networking.
The Academy's conferences, newsletters and committee activities provide social and professional meeting opportunities for PAs from all regions of the state.
Legislative Representation
KAPA's Legislative Affairs Committee reviews all legislation affecting Kentucky PAs. KAPA establishes liaisons with other health care groups and works with our elected officials to enhance PA practice on both a state and national level. In addition, members receive up-to-date communications about how they can help KAPA's legislative efforts.
Public Education
The Academy actively promotes the concept of the PA as a vital part of the health care team and works to increase our profession's visibility.
Leadership Opportunities
KAPA members are invited to play an active role in the future of the PA profession by becoming part of KAPA's leadership. All members are welcome to join any of KAPA's committees that provide programs and services.
Student Support
KAPA takes a very active interest in the future of the PA profession by encouraging and facilitating student membership. Students attend the CME conference at special rates.
New Grad Discount
The KAPA Board of Directors has modified the membership criteria to ensure that the transition from student to fellow member is easy and budget friendly. KAPA now offers an additional $50 membership discount for new grads, which will allow you to convert your student membership to a fellow membership for only $100 for your first year dues. Also, the student grace period has been extended from 3 to 6 months.
